The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is a statewide organization comprised of over 3,800 permanent and 1400 seasonal employees. The mission of the Department is to protect the people of California from fires, respond to emergencies, and protect and enhance forest, range, and watershed values providing social, economic, and environmental benefits to rural and urban citizens.

Minimum requirements may not include all possible requirement options or may not reflect current revisions. Most classifications require possession of a valid driver's license of the appropriate class issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
